Amber and Bertie | Cross Breed (Small)

This cute pair of Lakeland / Patterdale Terrier crosses need to find a new home together.

Amber is 12, and is the longer haired of the pair, Bertie is 11 and is slightly more outgoing.  They are best homed as only dogs, also without cats (although they have lived with cats before).  They can be rehomed with children.

They are both lovely dogs who walk well on the lead.  We hope their age will not mean they are in kennels for a long time.

More fab photos and video (where you can see how pleased Amber is when Bertie comes back to her!)- http://s376.photobucket.com/albums/oo210/nikmurphy/Amber%20and%20Bertie/

ROCKY & STARBUCK - 2YR OLD ROTTIE X’s | Rottie Cross

Rocky & Starbuck have come back to us because their owners have lost their home. They are brother & sister who were born in our rescue when their mum came in as a stray. They are both house trained, and get on with most other dogs, although they would need quite a secure garden as they can both be escape artists. As they are still quite young and energetic, they would need quite a lot of exercise and space to “spread”, and would benefit from some obedience training. We would really like to find a home for them together, so if you can offer Rocky & Starbuck a loving, forever home, please call 0845 4630623 or email rehoming@ceredigionanimalrecue.org.uk We rehome all over the U.K. but will always carry out a home check.

JED approx 5 yr Cocker Spaniel | Cocker Spaniel

Jed is a failed gun dog and consequently is very, very high energy, and he still does have that gun-dog instinct. He would need a home where he can have plenty of physical & mental stimulation as he can be quite bouncy, and could get bored easily. He is good with other dogs most of the time, has good recall & is almost house-trained. He knows basic commands and is a bright boy, so would learn very quickly. He likes to collect things although he is not destructive, and he is very affectionate. He has lived in kennels, but would fit into a home environment easily. If you have a high energy, loving, forever home for Jed, please call 0845 4630623 or email rehoming@ceredigionanimalrescue.org.uk. We rehome all over the UK but will always carry out a home check

JACK approx 3yr old Jack Russell | Jack Russell Terrier

Jack is a lovely 3yr old Jack Russell, who loves people, and is very friendly, but will chase cats. He is good on a lead and has great recall. He is ok with most dogs, but can be a bit choosy when he’s out walking. He is a very busy boy and would need lots of exercise and mental stimulation, but loves a cuddle. He can be a little travel sick in the car, but enjoys looking out of the window as the world goes by. We feel that Jack would be better suited to life on a smallholding or farm type home. If you think you can offer Jack a loving, forever home, please call 0845 4630623 or email rehoming@ceredigionanimalrescue.org.uk We rehome all over the UK but always carry out a home check.

Lily | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier
Lily is a 12 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Lily has not had a good life and when she came into our care her nails were curling under and we believe she had been shut away and used for breeding, not being exercised and not being given the care she needed. Lily has also recently sadly been let down when a forever home had to pull out due to a change of heart and again Lily finds herself waiting for a loving home when at her age time is so precious. On occasions she looks very sad like she has all the troubles of the world on her shoulders and it would be such a wonderful thing for Lily to finally find a loving home where she can live out her remaining years in the secure knowledge she will be cared for and given all the things a dog needs.
Lily is currently in a foster home and has settled well, like she has always been there, she has been a very easy girl to have around and would suit people with no previous experience of Staffordshire Bull Terriers, she loves people and her favourite place is the lap, she follows her foster parents around wagging her tail just wanting to be near them, on a recent visit to the vets she enjoyed the attention given her, she has a couple of skin walts which our vet has advised are only cosmetically unsightly and no health risk and for the sake of being picture perfect it is not worth the risk to Lily to anesthetize her to remove them, she is looking for someone who will love her walts and all. She also suffered a break or fracture when much younger which was not treated correctly and has left her with a wonky slightly sticky out leg but for all her lumps and wonkiness we think she is beautiful, so she is looking for someone who can look beyond her not so perfect looks and see the graceful beauty inside, she is gentle and quite and has a wonderful nature, she greets all people well and just wants to be friends.
Lily is also currently living with other dogs big and small and is very good with them all, she has no malice in her at all and greets other dogs well with no issues, although she is not interested in playing she will snuggle up to another dog when sleeping, she enjoys her walks although cannot do long hikes and a gentle stroll around the block is all she needs, a garden to potter around in and to have a sunbathe in is also essential. Her recall is not 100% and her hearing is not as good as it would have been in her younger days, but on her walks she never ventures far from your side just occasionally stopping for a sniff here and there.
Lily loves water and is a good swimmer, she also enjoys a game with the hose pipe although this is only advisable on a hot day as both human and dog end up rather wet!
She is a good traveller and sits watching the world go by or curls up for a snooze on longer journeys, she is easy on the lead, toilet trained and enjoys her food and treats.
Lily likes the slower quieter pace of life, a busy home with small children would not be for Lily, she is looking for a quieter home and although she is good with children we would prefer her to live with older children only, she would be happy to live with other dogs or as a only dog, Lily has been let down so much in her life that she deserves a forever loving home finally where she will not be required to do anything except be loved.
For more info or if you can offer Lily a home please contact her foster mum direct at animalhelpline@hotmail.co.uk or 01775710876

Sadie | Collie Cross
Sadie is a 8 to 10 year old female long coated Collie cross. This beautiful girl has been looking for a new home for some time and we think it is high time she found that forever loving home. Sadie had to have a growth removed from her ear which has left her with one ear up and one wonky ear only at half mast, we don't think this detracts from how pretty she is though. Sadie is currently in a foster home with other dogs big and small who she gets on well with she is respectful of their space and waits her turn, despite her age she still enjoys a game and running around and likes to have a game with another dog, Sadie enjoys her walks and this girl if human would be a olympic swimmer, she adores water and at any opportunity will dive in, on her walks along the local river bank she will spend more time in the water than on land.  She has settled well in her foster home and has proved a easy girl to have around, she is a quiet gentle girl who enjoys a fuss and does a little dance with her back legs when her lower back is tickled. Sadie is good with people and greets people well, she could live with older children but a home with young children would be to over whelming for her, as she likes the quieter gentler pace of life and not being the centre of attention, she did not like her photo being taken and would turn her head away and look the other way.
Sadies other passion in life other than water is food, she does have one bad habit where food is concerned, she jumps up the kitchen surface and tries to eat her dinner from its bowl before she has been given it she is learning though that this is not acceptable , she is a quick learner though and very easily trained.
Sadie enjoys her walks, she walks better on a body harness she will pull at first but after her initial excitement calms down and is gentler to walk. She is toilet trained and travels well, she is happy to be left.
Sadie has a beautiful coat which will need regular grooming she is looking for a home where she will be loved and cared for forever.
For more info or if you are able to offer Sadie a forever home please contact her foster mum on animalhelpline@hotmail.co.uk or 01775710876

Brandy | Cross Breed (Medium)
Brandy is a three year old medium sized brindle cross breed.  He's very good with other dogs and seems fine with older children.  We have no history on what he would be like with cats and little children.  Brandy is a fabulous boy, very friendly, full of energy and would benefit from a home where he will receive plenty of exercise as he is a bag of beans.  A really lovely boy who has been overlooked for far too long simply as he's another brindle crossbreed.   Videos and more photos http://s592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/dorisbanham/Brandy/

Please call Chris on 0797 157 8963 or Jan on 0759 704 8743.  Kennelled in Coningsby, Lincolnshire.

Jimmy | Staffie Cross

Jimmy is a fabulous brindle male Staffordshire Bull Terrier.  He's about five years old and loves everyone.  See the photo of him giving a ten year old boy a big sloppy kiss when he's only just met him.  An absolute bundle of love and fuss that you can't fail to adore as he's so affectionate.  Jimmy would probably be best rehomed as an only dog or with another dog of similar energy levels.   Video and more photos http://s592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/dorisbanham/Jimmy/

Gizmo | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Gizmo, Partially Sighted, Staffie, DOB 08-09

Homing requirements: Gizmo is partially sighted and needs a family geared to this. It is actually easy to forget he is challenged when in his company.  His family will need to have awareness and be alert making sure he isn't put at risk of injury or danger i.e. roads. He needs a family who can ensure his eyes receive 'care' as required, if they prove vulnerable. Gizmo could live with another fluent dog or dog friendly cat. Gizmo would prefer a companion home, but would tolerate part-time working.

His Story: Gizmo was found stray & chipped, but the owner was no longer contactable. He presented with 'cherry eyes', but once operated on was found to have very limited vision which he makes full use of with alert hearing and he is not as 'disabled' as you would assume.

Advert: Gizmo is a larger than life character in a small body with tiny eyes that seem to gaze up at you with a huge smile! He is very attuned to people and loves to meet everyone and everything. Gizmo has a passion for life; a heart the size of a ship and just adores company! Gizmo is sensitive to light coloured items and moving objects, optimising and 'reading' every bit of sensory information he has to achieve quite a clear understanding of his environment.

Gizmo is happy to run around and play ball, but just as happy to sit by your feet and be stroked whilst you watch TV. He will potter from room to room and be beside you. Gizmo is special, but no need to feel sorry for him ... he is never sad. In kennels he stands alert waiting for a voice directed his way or a movement which means he might get a fuss! He isn't delicate and loves a rough and tumble, but obviously his home needs to be managed to ensure he doesn't inadvertently damage himself e.g. sharp coffee table corners. Gizmo is a concentrated dollop of goodness.

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".

Please visit Gizmo's thread, in Dogs needing homes in Kennels on our forum http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/about3577.html to find out more about him and follow his progress.

Lexi | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Lexi, Staffie, DOB 06.04

Homing Requirements: Lexi needs a family who can offer her care and company. She is accomplished, but being a small terrier type, may be better living with older responsible children, but willing for you to argue your case! She is currently unsettled by her ordeal in rescue so need times to find herself and circumstance to tolerate initial protest. She cries, so needs an understanding family helping her soothe away emotional pain.

Her Story: Lexi was found stray and chipped. Contact number not acknowledging her, but suspect it was her ex-owner. Lexi has now been spayed and is receiving ear treatment for a neglected ear condition. Fur scurfy and currently sparse. Undergoing vax.

Advert: Lexi arrived at our door as a little waif. She is 6 years old and small, so likely to be a longer liver so please don't let her age be a factor in not considering this gem. She was not in good condition when found, yet so very trusting. Her ordeal has affected her as she is emotionally unsettled currently, but not clingy. Just very perceptive to change and looking for stability.  She settles once coming to terms with a situation and we are confident that given time she will adapt into a new life style geared to her needs. She may even enjoy the right dog's company as she is dog fluent. Though she will need a dog-fluent companion as she is a little on edge as she settles and achieves a sense of trust. She is housetrained and enjoys the car, but likely to create initially on a journey and if left in it!

Lexi is a tender soul, so much the 'rescue dog' currently. She is a moments step away from becoming the treasured healthy and contented gem. She is ready to lighten your life and offer you pleasant, easy and social walks in life and loving friendship. She loves meeting people and dogs. She would benefit from routine and from companionship.  Little Lexi currently looks "the unsettled rescue dog who hasn't had the best of treatment". She is on the road to becoming that precious 'much loved' and 'apple of her owner's eye' little girl.

Maisie | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Maisie, Staffie, 2-3 years old

Homing Requirements: Maisie needs a caring family who have experience and time to allow her to settle. She was a homeless person's dog so will appreciate home comforts. She needs basic training giving her clear communication and understanding of her needs to equip her for her new family life.

Her Story: Found Stray, her owner came forward, but couldn't afford the reclaim fee ... have since lost contact with him as a homeless person. She is now neutered, is chipped and being vax'd.

Advert: Maisie is a little sad at the moment as she tries to make sense of kennels and being in rescue. She walks well on the lead, meets people and dogs well. She has a lovely vibe and is settled in her skin. Not a leapy Staffie, but the very loving dog. She is in good health.

Beauty shines through her; Maisie is amazing. Kind and true and will make a wonderful family dog. She is untested within a home as yet being new into rescue and awaiting either a foster place or ideally her home. Really can't see Maisie having any real issues other then settling into your routine and expectations, by offering her guidance and warmth of touch and environment. Kindness and sincerity.

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".

Nellile | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Nellie, English Bull Terrier X, DOB 05

Homing Requirements:  Nellie would like a bull breed experienced owner who is happy to love her and she them. She meets most dogs well outside and probably has lived with another as she was found with another. More concerned in the presence of men, but does relax once her nerves are put aside

Her Story: Nellie was found tied to a railing on a busy A road with another dog. She had been through Battersea and was chipped and found to be spayed, but there was no response from the chip details. Nellie is so lovely and would suit English Bull fan very nicely!

Advert: Nellie is coping with being in rescue, but really desires to be in a home. She is obviously out of kilter, but enjoying any time she has outside her kennel and proving very loving and a rescue favourite.  She is settling in kennels, but is a little guardy in this strange environment. Nellie is the size of an English Bull terrier, but slightly longer in the body perhaps.

Nellie is in quite good condition, walks well on the lead and travels well in the car.  Her feel in English Bull and we have come to truly adore this breed from the experience we have had of them. Beautiful head on her with loving beady eyes that hit your soul and swell your heart.

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".

Cissy (originally called Princess) came into us with a dog called Poppy.  Poppy has been rehomed leaving Cissy all alone.  Cissy is a 12 month old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier and is a little doll.  She's small for a Staffie girl, very cute in her affectionate mannerisms with the most incredibly brown eyes that are so rich in colour they make her stand out from the crowd. She's hasn't reacted too well to male dogs in the kennel but she was fine with her sister so she would have to be tested with any potential 'siblings' in her new home.  A fabulous little puppy who will make someone a beautiful pet.   Video and more photos http://s592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/dorisbanham/Cissy/

Alfie | Jack Russell Terrier

Alfie, Jack Russell Terrier, DOB 04.03

Homing Requirements: Alfie needs a 'feet on the floor' terrier home to put the confidence behind Alfie and give him the opportunity to settle in another dogs company outside again. He may need the temporary use of a muzzle just for those off lead dogs who don’t heed Alfie's nerves. He ideally needs a child-free living environment though meets children well just hasn't had much to do with them.

His Story: Alfie was living with 2 other dogs, but they fell out and so a relative took Alfie in and has kept him away from dogs believing him not to be fluent. He actually has quite good dog skills; he just had several squabbles in the pack alas he was the one to lose his home. His owners weren't happy to have Alfie near the new baby especially as it began to crawl. He was taken to the vets, but vet thought little Alfie needed the right rescue home and asked terrierrescue to help.

Advert: Alfie has such beauty and is an affectionate soul. He is fine in the house and a delightful chap all round. He travels in the car well. Alfie became frightened of other dogs when he lost his home over a squabble and his owners felt it was better to keep him away. Alfie is losing his intense curiousity with other dogs and is learning to tolerate their company and was that 'perhaps a smile?'

Alfie as you can see is a delightful character. We are looking for a terrier experienced owner who is happy to continue the work we have been doing to give him back his confidence so he understands dogs don't hurt him. He is looking for an adult home and would love to be your companion and true friend.

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".
