The DogTrust Canterbury Rehoming
Centre
Overview: Dogs Trust (formerly NCDL) was founded in 1891 and is the UK’s
largest dog welfare charity. Dogs Trust cares for around 13,500
stray and abandoned dogs each year at it’s nationwide network of 16
Rehoming Centres, the nearest being Dogs Trust Canterbury. Dogs
Trust has a non-destruction policy, meaning no healthy dog is ever
destroyed.
Mission
statement: “Dogs Trust is working towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a
happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction”
Rehoming: If you are interested in rehoming a rescue dog from Dogs Trust
Canterbury, you will need to visit the Rehoming Centre to register
and meet the dogs in our care. Before you adopt your dog, Dogs
Trust will need to visit you at home to make sure he/she suits your
lifestyle and to discuss future care. Dogs Trust ensures that
every dog is vet checked, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped
before going to his/her new home. Each dog is also given a new
Dogs Trust collar and lead set, food sample and six weeks free pet
insurance. When you adopt a dog
from Dogs Trust, you will also have access to free advice for life
and the guarantee that Dogs Trust will take the dog back should
problems arise.Open: 12pm to 4pm, Monday to Sunday (Closed Wednesdays)
